You don't get a second chance to make a first impression
It is no secret that how you look has everything to do with the first impression you make.
A first impression is made in the first 27 seconds.
If you are too formal in your appearance, you might give the impression of being rigid and stuffy.
If you are too casual, you may send the signal that you do not take the interview very seriously.
Unfortunately we do judge books by their covers and first impressions usually are the ones the last longest,
clients will make a judgment of your company's success, competence, and mentality based upon your office
building, the décor and unavoidably the appearance of the staff.
No step is more important than our initial meeting of the customer. The reason?
You won't get the opportunity to advance the sale to the other steps if the greeting
is ineffective.
Your first impression will likely determine your ability to make the sale.
Many people are too nice to blow you off but the first few seconds may have
made them decide to leave before buying.
Have you ever met a salesperson and thought “there's no way I'd buy something
from this person”? Why?
It may not have even been on a conscious level, but something made you
uncomfortable.
When someone is making a decision to spend thousands of dollars and 20% or
more of their net pay, they want to feel comfortable with the person they are dealing with.
